Keep repair logs in your devices — even in the smallest shells!
Whenever I open up a device to repair it, I want to leave a note of what I did so the next person’s job is easier. I view this much like commenting code: if you don’t leave comments, you’ll hate yourself in a few months. The trouble is, there often isn’t enough space in devices to do this. That’s where RepairLog comes in.
RepairLog is a online append-only logging system. The idea is you write only an address and password in the device itself, which should fit in even the smallest of devices, and then you can keep as detailed of a log as you’d like online. The address could be written on a printable label sticker, masking tape, the device itself, or even a piece of paper.
RepairLog is currently in alpha. There is a flagship hosted instance for free at repairlog.u9.tel. Soon, there will also be a shortlink service for extra-small devices at l.u9.tel.
